Ubisoft have launched an NFT video game and it looks absolutely terrible https://www.ign.com/articles/ubisoft-just-quietly-launched-a-full-blown-nft-game
Ubisoft’s NFT game, which has about 6 active players, has a game breaking exploit where one player is winning every match.
“One player pointed out that the Paulstar111 account was top of the rankings with over 56,000 matches played. It’s not yet clear how the player has been able to connect to so many games and automatically win them”
My favourite thing about this game btw, is it’s billed as a “web3 nft game”, it’s already been hacked, it’s a commercial flop, and if you read the YouTube comments on the official account videos, it looks like Ubisoft (or somebody else) paid for the comments to flooded saying how amazing the game and web3 is.
It’s just great stuff, perfectly encapsulates the moment in time where we have corporate execs having a group wank over absolutely nothing.
@GossiTheDog Seems like the perfect question to ask an AI to solve. Waste the same amount of effort on it as I care about it.
@GossiTheDog NFT-based game immediately hit by a fraudster's exploit? How could this be this possible? /s
@GossiTheDog I still can't tell if this is real, or a very elaborate Mythic Quest gag.
@GossiTheDog it wouldn't be so bad if we hadn't lived through exactly the same group wank a few years ago with Axie Infinity.
@GossiTheDog This appears to be blocking a Juawn review. This is a problem. Ubi may be happy about that though.
When I discovered that a major gaming company was making an NFT game I figured we'd finally at least have an NFT game that functions. But nope, here we are. Same stuff, bigger publisher.
@GossiTheDog Is it an “exploit” or a “hack” if “code is law” and the code is facilitating his actions? If your lock is pickable, then its pickability is part of the system, so picking it is a condoned part of the design... right? surely? *facepalm*
@GossiTheDog
Imagine, just imagine, if code were law
oh no
@GossiTheDog The six active players are the ones in the picture?
